Accessibility extensions for TuxType
Tux Typing is an educational typing program for children starring Tux, the Linux Penguin. The program includes two video game-style activities for younger players, with phrases and finger lessons for older students. Extensive i18n.
When you enter the program, tts will announce these items while navigating with up and down arrow. fish cascade,comet sap,lessons,options,and quit. If you enter option menu, you will get these items. phrase typing, project info, set up language, main menu, and edit word list.
One can change the language using set up menu and if the language is not supported by espeak, accessibility feature will be disabled. supported languages will be listed at the end of the document.

Target Audience
Designed for children, with activities suitable for both younger and older students.
Special Comets
- Repair Comet: Appears after producing a church bell, can repair damaged igloos. Igloos are repaired at the end of the wave if damaged.
- Smart Bomb Comet: Announced with high pitch, provides a smart bomb that destroys all comets on the screen. User must catch it and press ‘X’ to activate.
Activities
- Lessons: Offers lessons with phrases and finger exercises. Players follow instructions announced by TTS (Text-to-Speech).
- Fish Cascade: A game where players type words displayed on descending fish to prevent them from reaching the bottom. TTS announces the words and adjusts pitch and speed to indicate urgency.
- Comet Zap: Players type words announced by TTS to prevent comets from destroying buildings. Different levels are available.
Feedback keys
- F1: Displays remaining fish or score in Fish Cascade and Comet Zap games.
- F2: Shows remaining lives or number of cities alive in games.
- F3: Indicates the current wave in Comet Zap

Supported Languages
Lists languages compatible with espeak, including various accents and dialects.
Game Controls
- Pause Feature: Players can pause Fish Cascade and Comet Zap games by pressing the escape key.
- Volume Control: Adjust background music and effects volume using arrow keys while paused.
Language Customization:
Provides instructions for adding languages to Tux Typing’s Braille mode through a text file format specifying key combinations and corresponding letters or characters.
